“The Kampinoski (Kampinos) National Park […] is situated in Poland’s Central Mazovian Lowland, between the left bank of the River Vistula and the Bzura, just beyond the north-western outskirts of the country’s capital, Warsaw. In this it is almost unique, being the only European Park to border on to a capital city, and one of only two such sites in the world. It covers 38,544 ha (including 68 in the form of the European Bison Breeding Centre at Smardzewice in Łódź voivodship), and is surrounded by a buffer zone of 37,756 ha2.” ( more on http://kampinoski-pn.gov.pl/en.php ).
More photos of a green “lungs” of Warsaw in the gallery .

One of the things I like the most in Warsaw is its greeness. Parks and other green recreation spots occupies 8% of total Warsaw area. Among 82 municipal parks the biggest one is about 70 ha2 ( Royal Łazienki, where you can feed squirrels) and small ones have at least 2 ha2. Unlike other European’s capitals like London or Paris, Warsaw is more spread and still has a lot of space even right in a city center.

Co można powiedzieć o produkcie po jego opisie ? Product’s description

Thursday, June 14th, 2007

Mówiąc produkty “Made in China” mamy najczęściej na myśli rzeczy wiadomej (najczęściej wątpliwej) jakości, w słusznych ilościach i po przystępnych cenach.

I bought once Sauna Belt for my friend as a gift.
Apart from what TV ad is trying to convince you to buy at least one, this kinda device which allegedly should help you to “sweat away unwanted fat, eliminate cellulite, lose weight and ease muscle pain, all while sitting in the comfort of your own home” does not work at all - I’d say it’s more than a crap.

The plastic which the belt is made of stinks, the heat burns your skin not your fat and there is a probability to be electrocuted ;)
But on the other hand that thing has a very funny description and instruction in Polish, though in other languages too - French, German , Spanish … Whoever made that surely has a sense of humor.

But anyway, you’d sooner burn fat by laughing while reading it than using the belt.

IS TWINKY WINKY A …GAY?

Wednesday, May 30th, 2007

twinky-winky.jpg

According to Mrs. Ewa Sowińska, the Polish Ombudsman for Children, Tinky Winky one

of Teletubbies characters seems to be a … gay .

A proof? The Red purse which Twinky uses for his ( her?) magic tricks.

Because Twinky is according to a vast majority of viewer and authors a male, then using a

red purse is nothing but a “straight” homosexuality promotion.

“I learned that there could be some hidden homosexual undertones” Sowinska said and

had already order her office’s psychologists to judge whether it is appropriate for children

and can it be shown on TV.

One thing is worth to mention, Ewa Sowinska is a member of League of Polish

Families - the nationalist, clerical, xenophobic and often anti-semitic party, in coalition

of another populist ally, Self- Defense and finally conservative Law and Justice

party. Three of them instituted the present government in Polish parliament, have one

thing in common: a very strong aversion to everything what is Diffrent from their system

of value, refusing to accept any other varieties, closed for other’s point of view, perceiving

homosexuality as a social infectious illness which must be wiped out as soon as possible.

Everything in the name of tradition, patriotism, remaining “pure” culture, religion and

John Paul’s II “teaching”.

To help Mrs. Sowinska in finding dangerous ” hidden homosexual undertones” I have

some examples of children’s films which I strongly suggest to check out.

1. The Winnie Pooh - and his best friend, Chris. Notice that Winnie wears a red (!) t-shirt.

2. The Smurfs - among male Smurfs and male no-Smurfs there was only one female -

Smurfette. Ok, there was a little baby girl - Sassette and Mother Nature. Though…

Sassette’s case is not that simple - it might be a sign of … paedophilia. And Gargamel with

his beloved cat …again sign of … zoophilia. The film obviously propagate homosexuality

and/or polygamy.

3. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs - similar to above

4. Tytus, Romek & A’tomek - 3 male friends, one of them is a monkey seeking

adventures around the word.

5. Bolek and Lolek - 2 boys, inventors, often sleeps together….

6. Zwirek & Muchomorek - 2 male creatures , eat together, sleeps together

7. SailorMoon - 2 individuals with man’s suit but androgynic faces

8. Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves - no doubt why there was no female thief

and finally:

9. The Two Who Stole the Moon :

The current president and prime minister of Poland , former leaders of Law and Justice party.

DO YOU PONGLISH????

Sunday, May 27th, 2007

No ? Then, stop reading.

Yes? The answer below

Ponglish : ” Polish - English slang or literal translation” usually used by Poles in UK, USA, Australia or other English speaking countries.

Good news : There will be a lot of fun reading this

Bad news 1 : You can’t stop laughing

Bad news 2: If you don”t speak Polish, you probably won”t have much fun from it.

Anyway, there are some examples of direct translations:

(Thanks Asia for providing this! )

Tall Room !!

Wysoka Izbo !!

Welcome in the name of all penises of Peace.

Witam w imieniu wszystkich członków PiS.

Now it’s railway for me.

Teraz kolej na mnie.

It’s not fugitive of circumstances.

To nie jest zbieg okoliczności.

Don’t make stages and stop to tear yourselves.

Nie róbcie scen i przestańcie sie drzeć.

Peace is a big party and ice is poor in Poland.

PiS jest dużą partią, a lud jest biedny w Polsce.

It’s a huge grandfatherhood.

To jest ogromne dziadostwo.

Poland is village killed by desk.

Polska jest wioską zabitą dechami.

All politicians let the peacock out and take legs behind belt.

Wszyscy politycy puszczaja pawia i biora nogi za pas.

Do you divide my sentence ?

Czy podzielacie moje zdanie ?

But we are equal peasents and we will go out on people.

Ale my jesteśmy równe chłopy i wyjdziemy na ludzi.

I will animal to you.

Zwierzę się wam.

I will elephants behind them my on-ancestry.

Osłonię przed nimi mój naród.

You must step on my hand.

Musicie pójść mi na rękę.

We must stop to divorce the facts and break down the first icecreams.

Musimy przestać rozwodzić się nad faktami i przełamać pierwsze lody.

Without corpse !!!

Bez zwłoki.

I tower you will after-can us….

Wierzę, że mi pomożecie…

Thank you from the mountain.

Z góry dziękuję.

Room with you.

Pokój z wami.
